Have you found a puppy you want to adopt?
Below are some of the most commonly asked questions and their answers to
help you understand the adoption process at Purrfect Paws.
1. Do you allow visits?
Yes, we welcome visits. All visits are by appointment only. We do request that you submit a puppy application before scheduling a visit. Click here to print off our puppy application. If you are out of state and unable to travel to meet the puppies in person we are happy to Facetime with you. Puppy visits can be scheduled once the puppies are 4 weeks old (upon our discretion). Visits are scheduled 60 minutes apart, so we ask that your visit not exceed more than 45 minutes in order to be respectful of one another. We welcome children; we ask that all children sit on the floor to hold the puppies. The puppies will not be carried around or picked up by young children.
2. How do I reserve the puppy I want?
We currently operate by a first come first serve basis. Once you have decided which puppy you want and we have confirmed his/her availability a $200 nonrefundable (but transferable) deposit is placed on the puppy of your choice. We do not hold a puppy without a deposit. If you decide to wait on making the decision and someone else places a deposit, the puppy of your choice may no longer be available. Once a deposit has been placed the puppy then becomes reserved.
3. How do I place a deposit?
We accept PayPal, Money Orders, or cash. To make a deposit contact Liz via email, elizabethanne101@gmail.com or call 260-503-1147.
4. I have placed a deposit, what is next?
Once you have placed a deposit on the puppy of your choice we will do our best to update you with pictures/videos as you wait for your puppy to be the appropriate age to come home. While the puppy is still in our care he/she will continue to receive the best of care. Between 6 – 8 weeks of age the puppies will visit our vet and receive a full exam and their first round of appropriate puppy vaccines. We will do our best to communicate a date for pick up with as much notice as possible; typical pick up time is around 8 weeks of age. At the time of pick up your puppy will be freshly groomed and ready to go with a puppy gift bag including a sample of current puppy food, vet records, 1-year genetic health guarantee, a new toy, and a small blanket with mom’s scent.
If you live within driving distance and desire to schedule a visit during your waiting time just reach out and we will do our best to accommodate you. We know this is an exciting time for you and your family; we want to make this experience as memorable as possible. Please understand that we are incredible busy and focused on taking care of the puppies and their momma’s while in our care. We will do our best to respond to questions and communicate as best as possible.
5. What does nonrefundable but transferable mean?
All deposits ($200) are nonrefundable, meaning once you place a deposit, you do not get it back if you change your mind or your circumstances change. The deposit may be transferred to another litter, at another time, but no deposit will be returned. When transferring a deposit to a different puppy/litter an additional $100 will be required at that time to ensure you are ready. The previous deposit and this current deposit will then go towards the total purchase. There is not a time limit on how quickly you are to transfer, and rest assured, your deposit will never expire. Please note that you be aware that depending on breed, color, coat type, size, etc. puppies are not promised to have the same price as your intended first purchase.
6. What is a puppy application and why do I need to fill it out?
Our puppy application is a questionnaire allowing us to get to know you and your situation better. We love our puppies dearly and want to know more about who they will be living with and where they will be living. We request the puppy application to be filled out prior to a deposit being placed or any in person visit. This is for the safety of our puppies/dogs and ourselves. If at anytime we do not feel a visit is safe, we have the right to cancel the sale of a puppy.
Please email your filled out application to elizabethanne101@gmail.com prior to placing your deposit or visiting the puppies.
7, How do I get placed on a waitlist?
Being placed on our wait list simply means we will contact you when we know we are expecting a litter. Being on our waitlist does not guarantee you a puppy. Once you have been contacted and you decide to pursue adopting a puppy we ask that you fill out our puppy application and place a nonrefundable deposit. If a nonrefundable deposit is placed on an “upcoming litter”, selection of puppy will be in the order the deposits are received.
Thank you for reviewing our adoption process. As always, if you have additional question don’t hesitate to reach out.
